Mascara Review & Blogger Buys

Hello once again my lovely readers. I hope you had a fantastic week last week and have started this last week of March with a smile and a perfect mani. My mani wasn't so perfect so I whacked on a plain old coat of Barry M Rasberry - definitely not plain, a gorgeous colour! Going for the simple look this week, no patterns. Boring for you guys, I know, but I've got plenty more in store for you lovely ones. This week I have returned home after my 2nd semester at Uni. I physically cannot believe how quickly this term went. Just 5 more weeks after Easter and I'll have finished my first year! My first day back my lovely family and I popped to town for a much needed coffee and catch up. My mum also treated me to a new mascara! I've just run out of my Maybelline Scandaleyes - great mascara but a little clumpy and smudgy  I wanted something new to test out. I chose Bourjois' Queen Attitude Mascara Volume - £8.49 and wanted to give it a go so here are my results!

First thing I noticed was how lovely the shape of the bottle is, really easy and nice to hold and use. The brush is ever so thin with very few bristles... Wasn't sure what to make of this until I whacked it on! Here, you can see my before (left) and after (right) shot. I really love how the mascara is light and easy to apply! I used about 3 strokes on my top and only 1 on my bottom lashes and hey presto! After the whole day the mascara really held its shape and length and didn't go bitty or fall onto my cheeks. I think I've found a new must have mascara! Sometimes it really is rewarding to go out and try new products! I'm so happy with this purchase, I recommend!

My start of my visit home has been spent exercising, doing Uni work, spending quality time with my family, friends and gorgeous puppy, shopping and baking! My favourite past times for sure! Yesterday I made my signature oats and chocolate cookies - these cookies are so chewy and just plain LUSH! They are so easy to make, take about 10 mins prep time and 15-17 min cook time...
Another thing I've spent doing is taking my playful pup out for long old walks and taking lots of pictures of him... It's kind of sad, I know but he's just so damn cute!

You know he's cute! You know it.

And ONCE AGAIN I went shopping. Anyone who reads this needs to realise I don't actually have an addiction, I promise. I work very hard for my money and have lots of savings I don't touch... I'm not going bankrupt don't worry. Now that's covered... Yes, I am slightly addicted to nail polish and yes I've been at it again, adding to my collection. I think I now own roughly 90 polishes... WOOP! Check these new babies out...

Check it ouuuuuut! I'm ridiculously excited about these new purchases.  The blogasphere is going mad about Barry M's new Gelly Hi-Shine polishes. They really are fantastic and with just one coat you get a perfect coverage and illusion of a top coat all in one stroke! Don't get me started guys... I'll go on about this all day. But, I now own another 3 Gelly polishes! How do you like these colours? I also grabbed the new texture effect pink polish from the shelf. I was very torn between the blue, green and pink but let's face it... This girl loves her pink! I also saw the pink shimmer and Indigo from Barry M and had to have them. With 10% student discount (story of my life) my day was complete :D!! But, it doesn't end there: I'm off out on Thursday night with my gorgeous best friend and the girls from my old sixth form - I cannot wait! I needed some new tan though as I've just run out. I'm a paley waley naturally and a little colour on my arms and legs really makes me feel so much more confident and slimmer, in fact! Superdrug had this lovely Garnier self-tan for £4.29! I'm not the rightful owner ;) I will post a product review of this puppy once I try it out on Thursday - watch this space!

I hope your Easter shopping is going fabulously! Post some links below of any new blogger buys you want me to see! <3

Blogger Buys...

Hello lovely readers! So Abbie's been spending again... Woopsie! I thought I'd share my purchases with you... As I do ;) My first item on the shopping agenda was a new outfit for last week of semester's celebrations tomorrow night! My first stop was Miss Selfridge - their collection at the moment is to die for! I have never really liked Miss Selfridge as they have some great items but sooo expensive however with my lovely NUS card a student I get a lush 10% off! I don't have many items with exciting patterns on in my wardrobe so I went out of my comfort zone with this play suit but I actually love it! I'll make sure I pop a picture up of the finished look tomorrow night.

My next stop - let's guess shall we ;) River Island! This top is obviously pretty simple but I fell in love with the colour and the fit - I want to wear this one with skinny jeans and plimmies! Lounge about days! Only £14!

Anotheeer thing I've purchased recently is this hair treatment which is supposed to make my hair growwwwwww! My hair will never grow past a certain point and that's exactly what it says on the tin! Boots gave me this puppy for £7.49 - pretty pricey BUT during the first few tries of the product my hair is feeling so much healthier and thicker. I'm going to continue to use it everyday until I see some growth then just once a week! Have any of you tried this stuff?

Any new purchases recently? Anything you recommend for hair growth?

Lots of blogging love!

#30 Nails...

First off I'll start with apologizing for being non existent for two weeks! I've been ridiculously busy and had to work every night 5-1ish at the restaurant as it has been the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup Week where filthily rich folk go to bet their lives away on horses then drown their sorrows in as much alcohol as possible. It's been a draining week but it's over and this week is my final week at Uni before I go home for Easter! So I'm all yours again now lovelies! As you can bet, my nails were a STATE after such a busy week so I sat and repainted yesterday...

Another Aztec design for you! I really wanted to incorporate a load of different, fun colours along with the fabulously random, creative design that is Aztec. This design allows you to go wild and any thing you do works! I used 4 different Models Own colours in this design and my Salmon Pink from Rimmel London. Also, my detailing pens work wonders and helped with the lines and dots in the design. If you don't have any of these pens yet - get some! This design is so easy but just takes an accurate hand and patience. Start of with your choice of colours and just go wild with whatever you want! It's one of those designs you don't need to pre-plan but just add layers to as you go! It's one of my fave designs to do as it's so creative and fun!

Give it a go and I hope you like this one guys <3

Have a fabulous week!

#29 Nails & More Blogger Buys...

Hello lovelies :) This week you catch me with the flu... today I've finally stopped after weeks without a day off. I've been in bed all day and finally torn myself away from my duvet to make myself some beans on toast and finally pop a blog post up for you! Commitment ;)
This week I've combined two of my favourite posts; nails and buys! Here goes... So, I felt really inspired by the sunny weather this week with my nail design as I wanted something pastel, fun and sparkly.

You will have seen me go through this design many times before as I totally love the gradient blend design! It's so fun how you take a foundation sponge, your favourite polishes and some shimmery top coat and create a gorgeous blend design! I've had quite a few comments this week about this design. Check back on my earlier nail posts to find out how to do this design - it's super easy. I used some of my favourite polishes in this design. I am addicted to pastel shades!

Also, over the weekend I had crazy long shifts at work. On a Saturday I'll normally work 11-3 and then 5:30 -11:30. During the 2.5 hour break I get I can't really justify going all the way home and coming back again so I always go for a little wonder around the shops in Cheltenham and set myself up in Starbucks with a Vanilla Soya milk and ginger snap biscuit with my current book. Haha, what an exciting life ;) This weekend I really needed to buy some new bits...

Firstly, Superdrug was calling me! I totally love Superdrug especially because I can get 10% off everything with my student discount - no brainer! Also, their prices are normally really great and they often have some awesome discounts on pretty pricey brands. This week I'm heading out on Wednesday night with my uni bunch (hopefully I'll have recovered from this flu by then - fingers crossed) so I needed to get myself some new lashes! I must have lashes on when I go out as I feel they just finish off the perfect look! I have quite short and fair lashes naturally so on a night out falsies give a finally oomph to any look! Eylure are my fave brand for lashes as they last for night after night after night! My last pair I think I could about 7 nights worth out of them! Crazy! I never go for too thick as I think it would make me look a bit strange but these 'Naturalites' are perfection. Just under £5 with my student discount makes me very happy :)

A while back you'll have seen my Maybelline Fit me! Powder Review and I've only just finished the product - lasted me months! So, I've re-purchased - a re-purchase from this mrs. Never-satisfied-with-same-old-same-old is a big deal but this powder is fantastic! This time I went a few shades darker as the last was probably a little to light for even my pale skin!
Another re-purchase was my must-have concealer which I haven't cheated on in nearly 3 years now! Collection 2000's lasting perfection concealer is to die for! I'll never look back ;).

Last but not least is my clothing purchase for Wednesday night! I have some lovely black high waisted shorts already but wanted a new top and necklace! New Look didn't disappoint and have such a lovely collection of really cheap, good quality tops for going out in at the moment. I forget how good New Look is sometimes! This pink crop is so comfy and a perfect fit. The colour is so nice, it's not quite hot pink but I'd say has a hint of salmon in there - perfect for this blondie! I also wanted a statement necklace that would tie my pink top in with my black shorts, tights and heels! I love it! I can't wait for Wednesday now! Getting ready is one of my favourite parts of going out haha, is that sad?

Any new purchases recently?

Have a great week!
